CAMERA CARE

BEST EQUIPMENT FOR MAINTAINING YOUR CAMERA AND LENSES

• A Blower Brush
• A small paintbrush
• Lens cleaning tissue or cloth
• Lens cleaning fluid
• A soft cloth

• ALWAYS  protect the camera in wet weather.  Think about placing the camera in a plastic bag, leaving the lens uncovered in order to take the picture.
• BEWARE of sand, grit, dirt, mud, dust, moisture, toxic gas and salt water.  All of these can penetrate the camera and may seriously damage it.
• REMOVE batteries if the camera is likely to be left unused for any length of time.

• CLEAN the inside of the camera with a soft brush ... and only when the camera does not have a film in it.

• CLEAN the lens regularly.

• AVOID leaving the camera in high temperatures and humidity - ie. the car.

CHECK THAT THE CAMERA HAS NO FILM IN IT, then ...

• Using the blower brush, blow out any dust or film scraps.

• Use the paintbrush to clean the areas where camera back seals.

• Use the blower brush and paintbrush to clean the main external bodywork - including the rear viewfinder window.
• DO NOT put the fluid straight on to the lens.  ALWAYS put the liquid directly onto the cloth.

• DO NOT use solvents or harsh or abrasive cleaners on the body of the camera.
